Washington Seniors Holding “Spud Night”

The Washington Senior Center will be hosting a fund raiser called “Spud Night”. The event is a loaded baked potato meal with salad and desert and proceeds will benefit improvements to the Senior Center building and the expansion of activities that the organization puts on. The event will take place at the American Legion on Park Avenue in Washington. It will begin at 3:00 p.m. and run until 7:30 p.m. on October 15th. The event will have a DJ, silent auction and raffles. The local dance troupe Dance With Me Sisters 3 will also be on hand to provide live entertainment. According to Executive Director Barbara Miller, the organization provides 400 meals delivered to senior citizens, grab and go meals and lunch for 20-50 people each day that visit the center. They also have activities that go on in the center and they also schedule trips to places like the Gateway Clipper and Wild Things Games. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased by calling or stopping in at the Senior Center or contacting any of the board of directors. The phone number for the center is 724-222-8566.
