PITTSBURGH – (WPXI)-It will be an active weather start to the weekend. Waves of rain will continue intermittently Saturday with heavy rain likely at times Saturday morning. Many areas will see at least a half inch of additional rain through Saturday. A High Wind Warning is in effect for Allegheny, Indiana, Washington, Westmoreland, Greene and Fayette counties Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. For the rest of the area, a Wind Advisory is in effect for the same times. High winds coupled with the saturated ground from rain will create a perfect combination to uproot trees and create power issues. Gusts will top 55 mph in many areas. Tens of thousands of power outages are expected by later in the day Saturday. A powerful cold front will also trigger thunderstorms  Saturday. These storms could bring additional wind gusts topping 60 mph.
