A winter storm warning remains in effect until 7 o’clock tonight, but restrictions imposed by PennDOT on the interstates and the Pennsylvania Turnpike have been  lifted.  Scattered snow showers are expected through the day, with temperatures in the 20’s and wind chills in the teens.  PennDOT had temporarily reduced the speed limit on Interstate 79 to forty-five miles an hour on I-79 from the West Virginia border in Greene County to the I-376 Airport/Pittsburgh (Exit 59 A/B) interchange in Allegheny County.  There were also vehicle restriction on Interstate 70 from the West Virginia border to the PA Turnpike Exit 57 in New Stanton. Many schools on Monday either closed or switched to remote instruction.
