UNIONTOWN, Pa. — (WPXI) – A woman was shot by her ex-boyfriend in Uniontown during a reported break-in on Monday evening. Police were called to Carlisle Street at 5:08 p.m. for reports of a break-in when they learned a woman was shot. Police say they believe this started as part of a domestic situation where a girlfriend and boyfriend had recently broken up. Authorities say the woman’s ex-boyfriend showed up and forced his way inside of 28 Carlisle Street. At that time, the woman was in the house with her grandmother and an 18-year-old relative. After the man got inside, police say he got into an argument with the victim’s grandmother and then shot the victim. Officers say when they got to the house, they found the woman in an upstairs hallway with a gunshot wound to a “vital” part of her body. The victim was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital where we understand she underwent surgery Monday night. Her condition isn’t known.
