Week 1 of the High School Football season is in the books. Trinity rolled over McGuffey, scoring 21 points in each of the first two quarters. Wash High couldn’t stop Steel Valley’s Donald Barksdale who ran for 342 yards and four touchdowns. Canon-McMillan fumbled at least eight times in a home loss to Upper St. Clair. Ringgold’s attempt to break the WPIAL’s longest losing streak came up short on an overtime two-point conversion play at Indiana. Chartiers-Houston picked up the first win in the head coaching tenure of Dan Lis, blowing out Springdale. Fort Cherry & Peters Township, returning WPIAL champions, both rolled to convincing wins.
