Bentworth scored three touchdowns in the final 30 seconds of the first half, then held off Beth-Center’s comeback attempt after intermission. Preston Jaquay ran in from 38 yards out, then Lucas Burt and Ben Hays took interceptions back on consecutive plays to build 30-point lead at the break. The win keeps Bentworth within a game of the Tri-County South lead and is the first for the Bearcats against the Bulldogs in 27 years. Chartiers-Houston scored a pair of first quarter touchdowns, then held off a Burgettstown rally to stay within a game of Fort Cherry & Bishop Canevin in the Black Hills Conference. Fort Cherry trailed Monessen, 14-7, early in the third but scored 28 straight points to stay unbeaten. Canon-McMillan bested Mt. Lebanon in overtime, the Big Macs’ second straight win. Charleroi led 7-6 only to see Keystone Oaks rally late, handing the Cougars their 14th consecutive loss.
