Wash High topped Charleroi for the sixth straight time as the Little Prexies stayed within one game of first place Seton-La Salle. Waynesburg dropped a game back of the Little Prexies and Keystone Oaks but is in good shape for a 2A playoff spot. Fort Cherry twice rallied from down a touchdown to beat Bishop Canevin for the third time in a year, clinching the 1A Black Hills Conference title. The win the 22nd straight in the regular season for the Rangers. Chartiers-Houston’s loss to Serra Catholic eliminates the Bucs from the playoff chase. Carmichaels got by Avella, pulling even with the Eagles and Bentworth, just one game back of West Greene in the battle for the final Tri-County South automatic bid.
Canon-McMillan fell to North Allegheny, the Big Macs needing lots of help now to return to the 6A playoffs. Peters Township crushed South Fayette and will host Bethel Park in two weeks with second place going to the winner. Trinity rolled past Chartiers Valley, keeping control of its own playoff destiny. McGuffey lost to Avonworth, the Highlanders’ 8th straight defeat.
