Top-ranked Peters Township rolled past Mt. Lebanon Friday night, in a game ultimately shortened due to weather. Trinity took a one-point lead early in the third quarter but couldn’t stop Montour’s rally as the Hillers lost to the Spartans for the 14th time in 16 meetings.

Most teams in the two-county area move into conference play next week though the top three classifications have two more weeks of non-conference action. In the 1A Tri-County South, Avella & Jeff-Morgan went 3-0 in exhibition action. Bentworth and California are 2-1, while Carmichaels went 1-1. Beth-Center is 0-3, along with West Greene. Black Hills Conference action begins next week with #1 Fort Cherry unbeaten at 3-0. Chartiers-Houston is 2-1, Burgettstown 1-1.
Century Conference (2A) begins next week with Wash High at Waynesburg. Both teams went 2-1 in non-conference games. Charleroi is 0-3 this year and has lost seven straight games. 3A Western Hills games begin next week. McGuffey has lost 13 straight games.
