Saturday afternoon, Aaron Walsh ran for 113 yards and both Chartiers-Houston touchdowns as the Bucs spoiled Burgettstown’s homecoming celebration. The hosts scored a touchdown with less than two minutes to play but the two-point conversion failed. The win keeps CHHS within one game of the conference leaders, Fort Cherry and Bishop Canevin.
Friday night, Matt Sieg ran for 151 yards and three touchdowns, setting a new all-time WPIAL record, as Fort Cherry rolled past Monessen, 55-6. The senior quarterback has now scored 118 touchdowns in his career, passing Clairton’s Tyler Boyd and Lamont Wade. Canon-McMillan trailed, 6-0, at the half but scored three times after intermission to beat Mt. Lebanon, 21-6.
