Two years ago, Bentworth beat Charleroi in the WPIAL finals, then lost to the Cougars in the state semifinals. Last year, the Bearcats went undefeated to the state final, only to lose to Lancaster Mennonite in overtime. Saturday afternoon, Bentworth will try to clear that final hurdle and win the school’s first-ever state team championship, facing Delaware County Christian in the 1A Boys championship match.
