Peters Township never trailed but needed overtime to advance, the Indians topping Susquehannock. Peters Township sprinted to a 13-point lead early in the second quarter, then led by 10 with 10 minutes to play.  In the extra period senior lina Sopko drained a three pointer 20 seconds in and the Warriors never squared the score. Trinity went to Hollidaysburg and knocked off the District 6 champion. The Jeff-Morgan boys also won a road game at a district champion to reach the second round. The PIAA Basketball Playoffs opened across the state Friday, including five Washington County teams. Canon-McMillan and Chartiers-Houston girls won their first-round games. Burgettstown and Fort Cherry girls and Ringgold boys lost and were eliminated.
