Saturday will go down in history as one of the greatest days in Canon-McMillan Athletics. First, the Big Macs girls wrestling team won the PIAA West Regional championship and qualified six wrestlers for next week’s PIAA Championships. Shortly thereafter, the CM boys team won the 3A West Regional and advanced seven wrestlers to States. The Canon-McMillan girls claimed the day’s biggest prize, winning their first-ever WPIAL Girls Basketball championship, beating #2 Norwin, 50-38. The wrestling qualifiers open the PIAA Individual Championships Thursday afternoon. The girls basketball team will host Gov. Mifflin Saturday afternoon in the opening round of the PIAA tournament.
A Great Day to be a Big Mac!
