Top-seeded Canon-McMillan showed the effects of a nine-day layoff but the Big Macs girls handled Mt. Lebanon to reach the 6A semifinals. CM held the Blue Devils off the scoreboard for the entire second quarter, eventually stretching the shutout streak to more than 12 minutes. West Greene girls lost at Union and drop into an elimination consolation game on Monday. The Jeff-Morgan boys hopes of a WPIAL title ended. The Rockets fell behind OLSH by double digits early and couldn’t climb out of the hole. J-M has a PIAA berth in hand and will now play through the consolation bracket.
