Fort Cherry girls clinched a PIAA playoff berth with a home win against Laurel. The #4 Rangers will host Aliquippa Wednesday to decide 5th/6th place. Burgettstown lost at Aliquippa and will host Laurel for the 7th and final Class 2A girls berth. West Greene girls lost at home and were eliminated. Ringgold boys lost at Penn Hills and will play for 7th place on Wednesday.
Both Washington County girls teams still alive in the championship brackets play semifinals on Tuesday, and we’ll have live coverage of both games on WJPA. 6A #1 Canon-McMillan takes on #5 Seneca Valley at Mt. Lebanon and on WJPA-FM (95.3). 2A #3 Chartiers-Houston faces #2 Winchester Thurston at Peters Township and on WJPA-AM (1450). Throughout the WPIAL playoffs, our audio coverage is available free on-air and online. Video coverage for WPIAL/PIAA playoff games is accessible through the NFHS Network. We will produce the video for the Canon-McMillan / Seneca Valley game but we were not awarded the production rights for the Chartiers-Houston game.
