After 20 years as an athletic director, the last 15 at Peters Township, Brian Geyer has agreed to become associate executive director at the WPIAL. Geyer has been president of the WPIAL Board of Directors and a member of the PIAA Board. He will leave those positions effective at the end of February. Under Geyer’s leadership, Peters Township has won a PIAA girls basketball championship, multiple WPIAL titles and has hosted numerous championship and playoff events at the newly-constructed AHN Arena. The League’s associate position has been vacant since mid-December when Vince Sortino succeeded Scott Seltzer as Executive Director. Justin Pyles, assistant athletic director at Peters Township, will oversee the day-to-day operations when Geyer departs at the end of the month.
