Seanna Riggle tripled in a pair of runs putting Chartiers-Houston up 5-0 in the third, and Taryne Drilak held Montrose to one run on six hits while fanning 10 as the Bucs reached the state softball semifinals for a third consecutive year with a run-rule win over the Meteors. Drilak also drove in three runs in the win, sending CHHS to a 12th all-time final four. Chartiers-Houston will play District 1 champion Bristol Monday somewhere in the center of the state. Thursday was not as kind as both Bentworth softball and Fort Cherry baseball lost late. Everett scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to down Bentworth. The Bearcats scored twice in the first and didn’t get another hit in the game. Fort Cherry baseball’s best season in 40 years ended when Mercyhurst Prep plated eight runs in the bottom of the sixth, blowing open a one-run game. Watch/Listen Here
