Burgettstown Takes Three WPIAL AA Titles

Parker Sentipal, his brother Joey and Joseph Baronick won WPIAL AA individual wrestling championships Saturday afternoon.  Bentworth’s Chris Vargo picked up his second title.  Eight other Washington/Greene County wrestlers, including a trio from Beth-Center, were forced to settle for silver medals. All told, 33 wrestlers from the two-county area qualified for the PIAA Southwest AA Regional Mar. 4-5 at Peters Township, the final step on the road to Hershey.  Burgettstown, the WPIAL AA third-place team, claimed nearly a third of those spots, sending 10 to the regional.  Beth-Center qualified eight, Fort Cherry and McGuffey three each. Bentworth, Wash High, Jeff-Morgan and West Greene have two regional qualifiers and Chartiers-Houston has one.
