California University Women went wire-to-wire Sunday, knocking off #2 Gannon on the Knights’ home floor to win the PSAC tournament championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Women’s Basketball tournament. The Vulcans beat the top team in each PSAC Division over the weekend to claim their seventh conference championship, the first since winning back-to-back crowns in 2015 and 2016. Cal U will open NCAA Regional play at Glenville State Friday against third-seeded West Chester, the team the Vulcans beat in the PSAC semifinals. Tip-off is 12 noon. Gannon is the #2 seed and will face Charleston WV in the first round Friday at 2:30 pm. The hosts are the defending regional and national champions and play Elizabeth City at 5 pm, followed by Shippensburg vs. West Virginia State.
