OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — It has been nearly two decades since Illinois last reached the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament. Standing in the way of the second-seeded Illini this year is No. 11 seed Duquesne, which just might be the hottest team in the country. The Dukes have won nine straight after a first-round win over BYU, and after 47 years without a tourney bid at all, are rolling into Saturday night’s game in the East Region. In the other game in Omaha, Nebraska, second-seeded Iowa State is still carrying a chip on its shoulder after some pundits voted the Cyclones to finish seventh in the Big 12 this season. They face seventh-seeded Washington State for a spot in the Sweet 16.
