SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Quarterback Mason Heintschel ran for a touchdown as Pittsburgh beat Syracuse 30-13 on Saturday night. Pitt won its third straight game with true freshman Heintschel, while Syracuse dropped its third straight. Pitt continued its dominance over Syracuse, winning seven of the last eight meetings. Both teams struggled offensively, combining for 28 first downs and 472 yards. Heintschel threw for 143 yards with one interception, while Syracuse’s Rickie Collins threw for 126 yards with three interceptions. Pitt’s Kenny Johnson returned a punt 66 yards for a touchdown, sealing the victory.
