Heintschel Throws For Over 400, Panthers Win Over NC State

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Mason Heintschel sets a Pitt freshman record by passing for 423 yards as the Panthers raced by North Carolina State 53-34. Heintschel completed 28 of 48 passes, including an 84-yard touchdown to Blue Hicks, to remain unbeaten in four starts. The victory kept Pitt in the ACC race it may have also come with a cost after star running back Desmond Reid exited in the third quarter with a leg injury. Hollywood Smothers scores a 65-yard touchdown for N.C. State, but the Wolfpack struggled to keep up with a Pitt offense that piled up over 500 yards.
