Wash High forced five Serra Catholic turnovers, two of them returned for touchdowns by Carlos Harper, as the Little Prexies beat the defending champions, snapping a three-game playoff losing streak. McGuffey struggled but finally withstood Mohawk’s upset bid. Matt Sieg put up nearly 400 yards total offense and five touchdowns, leading Fort Cherry into the 1A quarterfinals. Mapletown handled the Leechburg spread offense to secure their first school playoff win. Burgettstown, California and Carmichaels all met the end of the road with first-round losses. 6A teams had the week off before Canon-McMillan travels to North Allegheny next Friday.
