Canon-McMillan took control early and cruised to an important Class 6A win over Seneca Valley. The Big Macs are now 1-1 in the five-team league and hold the tie-breaker over the Raiders. Peters Township blew up a close game at the half and improved to 3-0 with a road win at Trinity. Avella snapped Mapletown’s 12-game regular season winning streak. Ringgold’s struggles continue as the Rams lost for the 18th straight time. Wash High easily handled Serra Catholic and may take over the top spot in the area Class 2A rankings with Steel Valley’s loss to Seton-La Salle. Waynesburg won for the third straight game after losing 13 in a row to end last season. The Raiders were the only Greene County winner Friday night.
