Burgettstown built a 14-0 lead at the half and made it stand up as the Blue Devils downed Chartiers-Houston to pick up their first Black Hills Conference win, the second straight conference loss for the Bucs. After four non-conference games, Wash High sprinted out of the gate in its Century Conference opener, scoring the first nine times it had the ball to roll past Brentwood. McGuffey also won in the Century Conference. Charleroi and Canon-McMillan picked up non-conference wins, Charleroi getting its first win of the year.  Peters Township and Trinity both led early but each suffered their first conference loss of the season. Ringgold’s loss to Connellsville is the Rams’ 10th straight. West Greene beat Bentworth to snap a 5-game losing skid.
