Canon-McMillan’s frustration on the gridiron against North Allegheny continued Friday night as the Big Macs lost to the Tigers for the 11th straight time. Peters Township saw Moon take an early lead, then responded to dominate the rest of the game, reaching the WPIAL Finals for the third time in five years.  McKeesport ran a missed field goal back 102 yards for a touchdown ending the first half, up 14-0. The Tigers went on to eliminate the Hillers who were trying to get to the semifinals for just the second time ever. Tristan Reed hit Isaiah Thomas on a 20-yard pop pass for the game’s first score, and Jahvon Woods added a pair of second half touchdown runs, propelling Wash High past McGuffey, the school’s 50th all-time post-season win. Fort Cherry remained unbeaten as Matt Sieg ran for three touchdowns and passed for another, setting up a rematch with Bishop Canevin in the WPIAL semifinals.  The Crusaders eliminated California, blanking the Trojans after intermission.
