Trinity hosted Thomas Jefferson for Homecoming Friday night. The HIllers shocked the #2 Jaguars and most of the WPIAL with a 23-6 win. Jonah Williamson ran for two short touchdowns, Andrew Durig added a 20-yard run and the defense put up a safety as Trinity beat Thomas Jefferson for the first time since 1987.  Moon Area scored first, just the fourth touchdown allowed by Peters Township but the host Indians rolled in the second half to stay unbeaten and clinch a 5A playoff spot.  Wash High and McGuffey both cruised to easy wins, staying on a collision course with the conference title on the line. McGuffey’s win clinched a 2A playoff berth.  Waynesburg righted the ship, snapping a two-game skid. Ethan Varesko ran for over 400 yards and four touchdowns to lead Beth-Center, giving the Bulldogs a two-game cushion with three games to play. The Beth-Center win was #370 all-time. California took control of the Tri-County South with a convincing home win over West Greene, win #450 for the Trojans. Jeff-Morgan solidified its hold on a playoff spot.  Ft. Cherry remains unbeaten after its running-clock win over Avella. Chartiers-Houston let a third-quarter lead get away, losing for the 7th straight outing.  Canon-McMillan rallied from an early deficit to take a non-conference win over Baldwin.
