Sarah Scott hit a put-back as the overtime buzzer sounded, lifting Lincoln Park to a win over Trinity and sole possession of first place in 5A Section 4. Trinity rebounded a missed free throw but couldn’t hold the ball, allowing the Leopards two chances late in the extra period. Lincoln Park has now won 16 straight while the Hillers have lost three in a row, all in overtime. Peters Township girls extended their season-opening win streak to 17 games.
In boys action, McGuffey snapped a two-game skid, rolling past Mount Pleasant. Wash High maintained its one-game lead in 3A Section 4 with an easy win at Charleroi. In 2A Section 4, Chartiers-Houston won for the third straight game, pushing Beth-Center 2.5 games out of the playoff picture. Fort Cherry stayed unbeaten in league play.
