Trinity wrestling topped Waynesburg for the first time since 2006, concluding a perfect run through section matches. Canon-McMillan beat Peters Township, but won only seven bouts and will not make the team tournament, losing the tie-breakers to Peters and Baldwin. Ringgold secured a tournament berth for the first time since 2014 with its win over West Mifflin. Burgettstown, the defending 2A champion, remained unbeaten, dropping Bentworth to third place. McGuffey won it’s team tournament tune-up at West Greene. WPIAL Team Tournament brackets will be released Thursday afternoon. When that happens, we’ll post them here.
