Joey Porter Jr. Says He Wants To Play This Season

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is eager to play this season, though he doesn’t know when that will happen. Porter didn’t rule out making his 2026 debut in Week 3 when Cincinnati visits. The fourth-year pro missed Pittsburgh’s first two games. Coach Mike McCarthy held him out of the opener against Atlanta. Porter then watched a loss in New England last weekend from the sideline because of back pain. Contract negotiations between Porter and the club have stalled. Porter is entering the final season of his rookie deal and wants a raise. Porter’s teammates have defended him throughout the process.
