PAC Baseball Championship Central W&J is back in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship game following Friday’s action. W&J has reached the finals every year since 2012.  In the winners’ bracket final, the Presidents scored twice in each of the first two innings, then plated 4-spots in the 4th & 6th to cruise past #2 Grove City, 12-5. Drew Garth drove in four runs, Zach Stern added three more, helping Ethan Marszalek to the win on the mound. W&J banged out 17 hits against the Wolverines. W&J moves to the championship round, needing just one win to claim a fifth straight PAC championship.

In the opening game of the day, Westminster eliminated #4 Allegheny, scoring three times in the bottom of the eighth, capped by Josh Reed’s two-out, two-run single. One batter earlier, Carter Chinn walked with the bases loaded to pull the Titans within a run. The Gators had taken a 4-2 lead in the top of the inning on Ryan Dougherty’s two-run home run. After losing to W&J, Grove City broke a 3-3 tie with five runs in the eighth to eliminate Westminster, earning a berth in the finals.
