PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Two former Steelers found new jobs on Saturday after becoming unrestricted free agents. Former 2016 first-round pick Artie Burns reportedly signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears. He was the final player to leave the Steelers from the draft class of 2016, joining Javon Hargrave, Sean Davis and Tyler Matakevich earlier in the week. Pittsburgh also saw tight end Nick Vannett join the Denver Broncos on a two-year deal. Vannett was acquired early in the 2019 season for a 5th-round pick from the Seattle Seahawks.

Steelers Sign Tight End Eric Ebron & Acquire Ravens Defensive End Chris Wormley

March 20, 2020 5:37 pm

PITTSBURGH (AP) – The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to terms with veteran tight end Eric Ebron, giving quarterback Ben Roethlisberger another proven red zone target. Ebron reached the Pro Bowl in 2018 while catching 13 touchdowns but was limited most of last season while battling an ankle injury. Pittsburgh hopes Ebron’s arrival can provide a welcome jolt to an offense that struggled in 2019 with Roethlisberger sidelined most of the year with a right elbow injury.  They also signed free agents guard Stefen Wisniewski and added to their defensive line depth by trading a fifth-round draft choice for Ravens defensive end Chris Wormley and a seventh-round pick, a rare deal between two bitter rivals.

Steelers Place Shazier On Reserved/Retired List

March 18, 2020 3:46 am

PITTSBURGH (AP) – The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed the inside linebacker Ryan Shazier on the reserved/retired list. But the team says the move doesn’t rule out the possibility of Shazier playing again. Shazier spent the last two seasons on the Physically Unable to Perform list while recovering from a spinal injury suffered in December 2017. Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert called the move “a matter of protocol” that would ensure Shazier remains involved with the team. Shazier has made remarkable progress since the injury and has continued working out in hopes of one day being cleared to play again.
