Broncos Defense Shines In Win Over Raiders

November 7, 2025 4:33 am

DENVER (AP) — Denver’s defense bailed out the Broncos in a 10-7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night. The Broncos sacked Geno Smith six times to make up for their spotty performances on offense and special teams. They barely outplayed the Raiders, who just traded away top receiver Jakobi Meyers. Wil Lutz’s 32-yard field goal in the third quarter broke a 7-7 tie. After Daniel Carlson missed a 48-yarder to tie it, the Broncos chewed up the rest of the clock with a methodical drive. The game was a flag-fest with neither team able to find an offensive rhythm.

According to police dispatch recordings from Broadcastify, people were concerned for Kneeland after he had sent a group text “saying goodbye.”

Steelers Are Quiet At The Trade Deadline

November 6, 2025 4:25 am

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers opted to stand pat rather than make a move for another veteran wide receiver at the trade deadline. That decision was fine by quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who says he likes the group of pass catchers at his disposal for the first-place Steelers. Pittsburgh did sign Marquez Valdes-Scantling to the practice squad, reuniting him with Rodgers, whom he played alongside in Green Bay earlier in their respective careers. The Steelers are the only team in the NFL who have had nine different players catch a touchdown and eight different players with at least 100 yards receiving. Rodgers has credited the group for not being selfish, one of the reasons he thinks they’ve been successful.

NFL; Jets Undergoing Major Rebuild

November 6, 2025 4:29 am

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets are undergoing a major rebuild after trading stars Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams. Gardner was sent to Indianapolis on Tuesday and Williams was dealt to Dallas. The trades brought in first-round draft picks for 2026 and 2027, signaling a long-term strategy. Jets coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey emphasized patience and opportunity. Glenn reiterated the team will be one fans can be proud of, though the Jets are likely to miss the playoffs for the 15th straight year. The focus now shifts to future drafts and finding a franchise quarterback.

Alex Ovechkin Scores His 900th Goal

November 6, 2025 4:27 am

WASHINGTON (AP) — The NHL now has a 900-goal club. Charter member: Alex Ovechkin, of course. The Washington star pushed his record total to a new level Wednesday night, scoring against the St. Louis Blues to reach 900. The milestone came 2:39 into the second period. Ovechkin was lurking in the offensive zone and was at the bottom of the right circle when he backhanded Jakob Chychrun’s rebound past a sliding Jordan Binnington, who wasn’t able to recover in time. The bench cleared to celebrate the 40-year-old’s accomplishment, while Binnington tucked the milestone puck into his pants.

Pitt #24 In First CFP Ranking

November 5, 2025 4:53 am

Ohio State received top billing in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season, followed by Indiana, Texas A&M and Alabama. The top three head into the final four weeks of the regular season undefeated. Another team with no losses, BYU of the Big 12, was ranked seventh. At No. 5 was Georgia, followed by Mississippi. All of the top six came from either the Big Ten or Southeastern Conference — a dose of business as usual despite a season that has been anything but predictable. Pitt is  No. 24.  The Panthers are riding a five game win streak and are 7-2 overall and in third place in the ACC with a 5-1 record.
