PITTSBURGH (AP) —  Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett was a full participant at practice Thursday and continues to maintain that he is ‘good to go’ Sunday when the division-leading Baltimore Ravens visit Acrisure Stadium.  Meanwhile, outside Linebacker Alex Highsmith did not practice.  Reports say he is dealing with a groin injury.  Also, Cam Heyward is adamant he’s going to play again this season. The longest-tenured player on the Pittsburgh Steelers is keeping mum on when. The veteran defensive tackle says he is “working his tail off” to recover from surgery to repair a groin injury he sustained early in a Week 1 loss to San Francisco. Heyward, who is on injured reserve, is out until at least midseason. Pittsburgh’s run defense struggled without the six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro.

CHICAGO (AP) — Fearsome Chicago Bears middle linebacker Dick Butkus has died at 80. The team said in a statement that he died Thursday. Citing his family, the team said Butkus died in his sleep at his home in Malibu, California. Butkus was a Hall of Famer whose bone-rattling tackles made him one of the most intimidating players in NFL history. He was the quintessential modern linebacker, a disruptive force who roamed sideline to sideline and left a trail of broken opponents behind. Despite a short career in which he retired at 31, Butkus came to define his position. He later acted in movies, TV shows and commercials.
