Carmichaels bats went mostly silenced as the Mikes fell to DuBois Central Catholic in the 1A softball title game. Thomas Jefferson’s Taylor Karpac singled through a drawn-in infield with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth, giving the Jaguars their first-ever softball state title. The PIAA Softball & Baseball Championships continue Friday at Penn State. The remaining softball title games include Elizabeth-Forward and Neshannock.
