Pirates Place Outfielder Oneil Cruz On Seven-Day Concussion Injured List

The Pittsburgh Pirates today placed outfielder Oneil Cruz on the seven-day concussion injured list. Outfielder Ronny Simon has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.  The 25-year-old Simon, who was claimed off waivers from Miami on June 2, hit .291 (60-for-206) with nine doubles, a triple, seven home runs, 30 RBI, 32 walks, 24 stolen bases and 35 runs scored in 52 games with Indianapolis prior to being promoted today. During his time with the Indians, he made 34 appearances (33 starts) in left field, 11 appearances (all starts) as the designated hitter and seven appearances (all starts) in right field.
