PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh finds itself atop the ACC with just two weeks left in the regular season. The Panthers are 19-7 overall and 12-3 in the league heading into a visit to Virginia Tech. Guard Greg Elliott says Pitt has used bleak preseason expectations as motivation. The Panthers were picked to finish 14th in the 15-team league last fall. Instead, Pitt is in the mix for its first ACC title since joining the league in 2013 and its first NCAA tournament berth since 2016.
