STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Mason Heintschel throws for 304 yards and three touchdowns, leading Pittsburgh to a 35-20 win over Stanford on Saturday. Heintschel, Pitt’s first true freshman starting quarterback since 2017, completes 23 of 38 passes. Ja’Kyrian Turner runs for 127 yards, while Kenny Johnson, Raphael Williams Jr., and Jake Overman catch touchdowns. Pitt’s defense dominates with five sacks and four forced turnovers. Stanford’s Ben Gulbranson completes 17 of 30 throws for 228 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions before being benched. The Panthers never trail, scoring their first touchdown early after a defensive stop.
