WASHINGTON, Pa. – Quarterback Jake Pugh threw six touchdown passes, four of them to Jacob Macosko, leading Washington & Jefferson to a 46-21 win over the United States Merchant Marine Academy in the ECAC James Lynah Bowl Saturday afternoon. The junior signal caller from Thomas Jefferson, named Presidents Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year Thursday night, set a career mark with the six TD passes in one game and 38 for the season. Macosko scored four times on five catches on the afternoon and was name the game’s Most Valuable Player. Owen Petrisek lead the W&J ground game with 11 carries for 100 yards, hitting the century mark for the first time. The Bentworth grad finished his junior year as the team’s leading rusher with 507 yards on just 64 carries, a 7.9 yds/carry average. Bruno Fabrycki intercepted USMMA quarterback Ben Carney twice, giving him seven picks on the season. The Mariners finish at 7-3 while the Presidents’ win improves their record to 9-2, the second straight nine-win season. W&J is 6-1 all-time in ECAC Bowl games and has won at least eight games in each full season since 2012
