California’s playoff hopes took a double hit as the Trojans lost both games of a doubleheader to Carmichaels. Bentworth can now clinch a 2A berth with any win or with a California loss. Charleroi needs one win or a Bentworth loss to clinch.

Ringgold’s post-season hopes a fading but still alive with two games to play. The Rams are a game back of Elizabeth-Forward for the last 4A spot. McGuffey got help when Brownsville edged Charleroi. Both the Highlanders and Cougars can clinch with wins in their final games: McGuffey vs. Waynesburg Thursday, Charleroi vs. Yough Monday. Wash High took its first step, topping Bentworth. The Little Prexies clinch with a win over the Bearcats on Wednesday plus a Carmichaels win over Beth-Center. Fort Cherry’s game at Carlynton was suspended in the fifth inning.
