PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen to their practice squad. The move came shortly after the Minnesota Vikings released the 35-year-old to allow him to pursue playing opportunities elsewhere. Thielen had eight catches for 69 yards in his return to Minnesota, where he starred from 2014-22. The Steelers, currently 6-6, have struggled in the passing game. Thielen joins Marquez Valdes-Scantling, another experienced wideout, on the practice squad. Pittsburgh also promoted Asante Samuel Jr. and released Darius Slay, who had been a healthy scratch recently.
