Susquehanna’s Romero Lafalais blocked a Washington & Jefferson field goal attempt and returned it 70 yards as the first half ended, keying the River Hawks’ come-from-behind 38-32 win over the Presidents in the opening round of the NCAA Division III playoffs. W&J was trying to build a 17-14 lead when Lafalais came clean from the right side for the block. Susquehanna then scored touchdowns on its first two possessions of the second half to build a lead W&J couldn’t overcome. The loss is the fourth straight in the NCAA playoffs for W&J since beating Johns Hopkins in the 2017 opening round.  Kellen Stahl threw for nearly 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns to John Peduzzi but also threw a pair of interceptions. The second turnover thwarted a late comeback attempt. W&J ends the season with an 8-3 record. Susquehanna moves on to the second round, traveling to Christopher Newport next weekend.
