Washington & Jefferson extended its dominance of PAC foe Thiel to 16 straight games with Saturday’s 55-0 shutout in Greenville.  Jake Pugh scored on a pair of short runs and threw 7 yards for Shakir Perkins’ second touchdown of the season.  Leading 14-0 on Pugh’s two rushing scores, Brandon Brown scooped up a skittering Thiel punt snap and ran it in from 19 yards out.  Ray Holmes capped a 10-play, 88-yard drive with a one-yard run, putting the Presidents up, 27-0, early in the second quarter. Tanner Volpatti snared his third interception of the year on Thiel’s next play and returned it 31 yards for his second “Pick Six”. Pugh scoring pass to Perkins closed out the first half scoring. W&J drove the field after receiving the second-half kickoff with Troy Volpatti tallying his first collegiate touchdown, a 1-yard run.  Colton Jones found Chris Church behind the Thiel defense and got him the ball, combining on a 73-yard catch-and-run touchdown that closed the scoring. Nine different runners carried the ball for W&J, led by Holmes’ 10 carries for 43 yards.  The Presidents rushed for 198 yards on the afternoon.  Pugh was one of four W&J quarterbacks, completing 14-of-18 for 192 yards and one touchdown. W&J tallied 514 yards total offense while the Red & Black defense limited Thiel to 101 total yards, -17 on the ground.
