Wash Jeff Rolls Thiel; Stays Perfect

September 24, 2023 1:29 am

John Peduzzi caught a trio of touchdown passes, all in the first half as unbeaten Washington & Jefferson crushed Thiel, 56-14, Saturday afternoon.  Following a Mason Kasprack interception, Peduzzi opened the scoring, hauling in a 29-yard pass from Jake Pugh less than six minutes into the game. Pugh scored from a yard out to cap the next possession just three minutes later with the W&J defense stifling the Thiel offense. Zach Cernuto added a one-yard run, building a 21-0 advantage early in the second before the Pugh-to-Peduzzi combo struck two more times in a five-minute span. Justin Huss (10 run), Kobe DeRosa (14 pass from Kellen Stahl) and Owen Petrisek (11 run) added touchdowns in the second half. Thiel managed just 135 total yards, 32 rushing. W&J travels to Grove City next Saturday in a matchup of the last two unbeaten teams in the conference.
