Washington & Jefferson missed the NCAA Division III playoffs thanks to two narrow conference losses. The Presidents, though, will host the ECAC’s Asa Bushnell Bowl Saturday, taking on the Hobart Statesmen at Cameron Stadium. W&J (8-2) had the best record among the declared teams and went 6-2 in the Presidents Athletic Conference, losing one-play games to conference champion Carnegie-Mellon and to Case-Western Reserve. Hobart (7-3) finished its Liberty League schedule on a four-game win streak after losses to champion Ithaca and to RPI, another ECAC bowl qualifier. The Bushnell Bowl is the ECAC’s top match-up for Division III schools. Kickoff is 12 noon. Two other PAC schools received bids to the ECAC bowls. Grove City (7-3) is hosting FDU-Florham (6-4) and Westminster (7-3) travels to SUNY-Brockport (7-3). We’ll have the W&J / Hobart game on WJPA-AM (1450) and online Saturday starting with Presidents Football Preview at 11:30 am.
