Owen Petrisek ran 16 times for 96 yards, and set up the game-winning touchdown, as Washington & Jefferson College beat Westminster, 21-14, Saturday afternoon. Moments after the Titans tied the game, the senior running back from Bentworth ran 30 yards around the left end, taking the ball to the Westminster 10-yard line. Two plays later, Kobe DeRosaa scored from a yard out to set the final score. The Presidents (4-1) scored on their first two possessions, driving 70 and 79 yards, each capped by Jacob Pugh scoring passes. Zach Cernuto opened the scoring on his 6-yard reception midway through the first quarter. John Peduzzi made a contested catch for a 33-yard TD with just over a minute to play in the quarter. Westminster’s defense forced a punt that was blocked and returned for a touchdown by Brite Cannon early in the second period, pulling the Titans to within 14-7. The score stayed that way until Pugh was picked off late in the third. Four plays later, Ryan Gomes got to the edge, scoring on a 33-yard sprint, tying the game. Pugh finished the game hitting 26-of-40 for 248 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Jacob Macosko & Cernuto each caught eight passes, Macosko for 119 yards, Cernuto for 40. Wesminster suffered its first loss of the season.
