W&J will make its 28th all-time appearance in the NCAA Division III Football starting Saturday. The Association released the 40-team bracket Sunday afternoon, slotting W&J to open the six-round playoffs on the road at Susquehanna.  Both teams are 8-2 overall and went unbeaten through conference play with very similar scoring numbers. W&J scored 446 points while allowing 155. Susquehanna scored one less touchdown and allowed one fewer as well. The River Hawks gained more than 2,800 yards passing and just over 2,000 more yards on the ground.  W&J threw for 3,300 yards and ran for a little over 1,600 on the season.  The winner of Saturday’s game will travel to Christopher Newport for the the second round. CNU beat Susquehanna, 41-27, in late September. This is just the second playoff meeting between the two schools, the first in nearly 40 years. Susquehanna won, 28-20, in the opening round of the 1986 tournament. We’ll carry Saturday’s W&J at Susquehanna first-round game, starting with Presidents Football Preview at 11:30 am.
