Survive and advance was the theme Sunday evening as elimination bracket play began. Covina, CA built a 9-0, then held off a Bay County, MI late rally to win, 9-8. BayCo scored six runs on just one hit in the sixth, then plated a pair in the seventh to pull within a run. The tying run got to third with two outs but was stranded on an infield pop that ended the game. The winners face Palmview Monday at 9 am, the start time moved up an hour due to expected weather issues Monday.

Tied at one after two innings, Nicaragua used a hit, two errors, a balk and three walks to go in front, 4-1. Germany scored once in the fifth, another in the seventh, but never got the tying run on base. Jayme Warlies homered for Germany.
