The PIAA Individual Wrestling Championship Series began a four-week run Saturday with the WPIAL 2A Southern Sectional. All Washington & Greene County 2A wrestling schools participated in the tournament at Burgettstown with the top six finishers in each weight class advancing to next week’s WPIAL 2A Championships. WPIAL team runner-up Burgettstown led the way with 10 wrestlers advancing to the WPIAL tournament including Parker Sentipal, Gaven Suica and Rudy Brown as champions. McGuffey has eight qualifiers led by champions Tucker Main and Emmett Wolfe. Beth-Center, Fort Cherry and Jeff-Morgan have six wrestlers each moving on to the WPIAL tourney. Bentworth had there individual champions–Drake McClure, Chris Vargo and Vitali Daniels–with two other qualifiers. West Greene is sending four wrestlers on to next week, Chartiers-Houston and Wash High two each.
