The WPIAL Baseball Championships are in the books. Avella lost to Carmichaels twice in the regular season. Wednesday, the Eagles turned the tables, scoring a 6-2 win and clinching the final 1A playoff berth in the process. Avella joins Burgettstown baseball, Bentworth, Chartiers-Houston, Carmichaels and West Greene in the state playoff brackets starting Monday.
Now, the softball championships take center stage at PennWest-California’s Lilley Field. Our on-air coverage of Championship Week includes the Bentworth / Neshannock and Chartiers-Houston / Union softball championship games. We’ll also provide online coverage of all six softball finals.
