The WPIAL Soccer playoffs continue with action moving to the quarterfinals starting Wednesday night. Six Washington County teams have reached the quarterfinals: Peters Township girls & boys teams each had byes into the round of eight. Canon-McMillan & Bentworth girls& boys teams each had to win first round matches to advance. One of the best games of the first round needed an extra 20 minutes to decide the winner in the 1A girls match-up. Freshman Brielle Dillon scored the tying goal with under six minutes left in regulation, then set up Bella Moyer for the game-winner in 3:35 into the second overtime for the Bentworth girls. Nita Anderson allowed a first-half goal, then slammed the door the rest of the way to get the win.
